Jamie Rowell's Electronica Ghost Voice Phenomena project presents yet another episode of a dystopian dream set to music.

Ghosts In The Machine is more focussed than previous outings, with electronic instrumentation coming to the fore, rather than as a complement to sprawling soundscapes and ambient textures.

I decided to do this EP as an experiment of sorts really. I'd been listening to a lot more electronica than I had in the past, and decided to take a step more in that direction. This is not to say that I've turned my back on what I've done in the past, just that I've taken a step in a different direction on this occasion.

Daniel Vincent, principal songwriter and producer of cult UK post-progressive band The Resonance Association, has released a new EP "In Sleep And Waking Dreams" via his personal blog, for free and immediate download.

An accompanying message on his blog simply states:
"as a thank you to everyone who has supported me this year, either by buying CDs or downloads, coming to see TRA, liking things on Facebook, retweeting status updates or just by saying nice things� this is for you"

Speaking to mrs.vee recordings about his new EP, Daniel stated:
"I'm always excited to put out new material, but in this case it feels extra special. The new songs I'm working on are really close to my heart, I'm going to be working very hard this coming year to make an album that will really blow people away".

The EP follows on just months after The Resonance Association's epic fourth album Heliopause, which received glowing coverage in revered progressive rock journal Classic Rock Presents Prog as well as high praise from the band's small but devoted following.

All four tracks on the EP were written, performed and produced by Daniel at his home studio in London, UK.

Opening track "Take One" features an old song playing back through the wow and flutter of tape distortion, offering a moment of reflection on the past before welcoming the new. The second track "Lost For Silence" echoes the heavier end of the TRA spectrum, leaving the listener reeling as the unsettling clatter of "Never Leave The House" takes the mind on a journey. The title track closes the EP in fine style, with vocals once again hinting on the transition from one state to the next.

Away from The Resonance Association, Daniel has released a number of albums and EPs both as a solo artist and as Karma Pilot, Safety Deposit Box and Mit Flug.

Gimnastic - Endless Delay

Let us introduce to you UK progressive synth duo Gimnastic: Paul Metcalfe and Duncan Perry.

Between them they are responsible for guitars, vocals, keyboards/synths, general knob twiddles and drum programming as well as production/ mixing.

The Resonance Association in "Classic Rock Presents Prog" magazine

The Resonance Association are featured in the latest issue of UK magazine Classic Rock Presents Prog. There is a 3-page interview with Daniel Vicnent plus a very favourable review of the band's recent album Heliopause.

The latest issue of Prog goes on sale today with the legendary Hawkwind adorning the front cover.

Prog 21 takes readers on a trip into the progressive underground scene that grew up in the Ladbroke Grove area of London in the late 60s and continues to this day. Dave Brock, Lemmy, Nik Tuner, Doug Smith, Michael Moorcock and Stacia all contribute as we look at how the scene spread from the �Wind through bands like The Pink Fairies, Here & Now and Ozric Tentacles in today�s music scene.

Daniel Vincent (synths, drums, guitars, vocals) had this to say about the album: "It became a labour of love to complete Heliopause... we knew we were on to something special but it took a real toll on us as a band bringing it all together. We worked with Mark (MJ) Strange to complete the album in a way that we could not have done on our own - he breathed life and some real magick into the tracks, and the result is something we are all incredibly proud of."

The band recently played another brand new piece Carl With Wound at the Burning Shed 10th Anniversary show in Leamington Spa, England.

Blue Horned Humanoids is the first album released by electro-industrial / dark ambient artist Non-Bio. Sounds like a curious mixture of Skinny Puppy, 8-bit pop, Wumpscut and Coil.

What began as a film/animation project, primarily making visuals for other bands, eventually gave life to electronic music of its own and Non-Bio began to grow into a fully fledged solo project.

Blue Horned Humanoids is the first album release and takes the listened on a journey from music inspired by film and video game soundtracks, through twisted bleepy disco made with circuit-bent gadgetry and creeping horror ambience...

The Resonance Association - "Impossible Aeons"

Whilst we can all be surprised by albums which seem to appear out of the blue, it's a real shock when you're actually expecting a completely different album...

impossible aeons is a six-track collection of songs we created in the past couple of months, after we completed the mixing for our other new album heliopause. whilst we finish the last few bits of heliopause, we thought we'd share these new songs with you. we hope you enjoy them.

Talk of heading in a more electronic direction has always made up a fair proportion of any conversation with the duo of Daniel Vincent and Dominic Hemy. However, hearing an entire album which replaces guitar solos with audio trickery and drums and bass with - well - drum'n'bass - was not what we were expecting.

The album consists of 6 tracks, the first and last of which appear to originate from a common set of source material. The 2nd track, Astral Attack, is the first of two which still feature prominent guitar work. In this case, it's a storming combination of trance electronica and soulful guitar - sounding a bit like the Orb vs Gilmour collaboration we had all hoped for (unlike the one we actually got).

Ages Of Dust starts off with a mighty wobbly bass-line, sounding very much like recording in the "capital of dubstep" is beginning to rub off. Some heavily treated samples take us on a trip, and finally somewhere a guitar - maybe - delivers a weaving melody.

Pieces On The Board continues on the modern electronic dub route; intriguingly, this track has mixing credited to Heliopause collaborator Mark Strange. For those concerned regarding the lack of guitars on this album, there are plenty on offer here.

The penultimate track Light Years is yet another curveball to add to the band's arsenal: a mutant disco number packed with vocal trickery and twisted electronics.

The band have always spoken about their influences openly, but Impossible Aeons is a different aspect of homage to those artists: fans of legendarily esoteric outfits such as The Shamen and Coil will certainly rejoice in this record, as well as those who wonder how modern electronic music is influencing the progressive scene.

Releasing Impossible Aeons as a free download certainly raises the question: if this is something the band has "knocked out" in their spare time, how long will we have to wait for Heliopause? Hopefully not "aeons"!
